The Chilliwack Alano Club is a long-standing part of the community, with more than 40 years as a registered non-profit. The club provides a clean and sober place for people who want recovery and support. Its steady presence shows a strong commitment to offering a safe space for anyone affected by addiction.
The club supports youth, seniors, people with disabilities, and First Nations members in a caring, respectful setting. There are absolutely no drugs or alcohol allowed on the property. The Chilliwack Alano Club is an abstinence-based, lifelong recovery facility that promotes sober living every day.
Support is available seven days a week, with meetings for Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), and Al-Anon (for friends and families of people with alcohol or drug problems). This steady schedule means help is always close for people who feel vulnerable or alone.
Meetings run every day, 7 days a week, starting with an AA meeting at 7:30 a.m. All meetings are held in a dedicated meeting room that can hold about 70 people.
Beyond formal meetings, the Alano Club builds a strong sense of community and fellowship. There is a full-service restaurant where members and visitors can enjoy reduced-price breakfast and lunch six days a week. The kitchen closes at 3 p.m., and there currently isn’t funding to keep it open until after the early evening meetings at 8 p.m. Even so, people are welcome to gather for coffee and conversation in a friendly, inclusive, drug- and alcohol-free environment.
Members and guests can also enjoy simple, social activities like crib, checkers, and various board games. There is weekly karaoke and other social events that help make recovery feel positive, supportive, and connected.
The club also plays a positive role in the wider community with family-focused events. These include a children’s Christmas party, a full Christmas dinner, and a Thanksgiving dinner. People can also request space for special gatherings. In the past, the club has hosted funeral receptions, weddings, and other important family events.
The Chilliwack Alano Club is more than a meeting place. It is a supportive hub focused on health, recovery, and offering a positive, clean, and sober lifestyle for everyone who walks through the door. Over 40 years of serving the community. Gratefully acknowlege the support of the Province Of British Colombia gameing grant.
